PROBLEM:
connection
error 10061 when trying to connect to MySQL on Debian (Linux) from Windows MySQL
administer or EMS SQL Manager
SOLUTION:
commenting out the 'bind-address' parameter in the MySQL configuration file
(/etc/mysql/my.conf)
PROBLEM: Startup Message: Computer must be
restarted before updating can continue.
Each time you start your computer you see the following message:
The Computer must be restarted before
updating can continue. Would you like to restart now?
Your choices are Yes or No. If you click Yes, the computer is forced into
a reboot, but the message returns. If you click No, you can work normally.
ISSUE: You may have a failed Adobe Reader 8 update.
SOLUTION:
Open
Adobe Reader 8. From the Help menu choose Check for Updates. If the program
checks for updates and finds them, apply. This may solve the issue.
PROBLEM: Message:
Windows cannot find 'regchk.exe'
SOLUTION:
It's an entry in the registry. The
value 'Shell' contains additional to the 'explorer.exe' ................. the 'regchk.exe'-entry. The
entry was being left in the registry. And that causes the message on start-up.
Remove
the 'regchk.exe'-entry
and the message won't appear anymore. Access registry from 'Command Prompt' with
'regedit' command and use 'find' from pull down menu and locate the registry
record to be removed.
PROBLEM: Diagnosis:
Microsoft Office is injected with worm Virus.MSWord.Melissa.
This macro-virus replicates under Office2000 and
above, infects Word document and templates, and sends its copies via e-mail
messages using MS Outlook. The virus is an extremely fast infector: its e-mail
spreading routine may send many infected documents to different e-mail addresses
when the virus installs itself into the system. The virus also has a trigger
routine, changes the system registry, and disables the Office macro-virus
protection.
SOLUTION:
